Campy Confession.....

I have a confession to make.....I don't love camping. There, I said it. Don't get me wrong, I actually found it adventurous and exciting as a kid. Maybe it was the ever present nosing around of the bears at Yosemite sniffing around our tents, ready to break into our cars if they found a stray candy wrapper, that put me off. Maybe it was the time I had an unfortunate stomach flu as a toddler and the family hysterically reminisces about frequent naked  dunks in the Yosemite River to clean me up. I can only imagine.......

My husband seems to recall that I said I liked camping during our dating phase. Hmmm..... I know I said I like Steve Young (SF 49er) but does that mean I love football? Sort of, in a roundabout way this is the truth.  I like the outdoors, I love a gorgeous view and fresh air. Houseboating is a blast and I love jumping off the roof into the lake and skiing all day. I only have 2 big issues with camping: the dirt (is everywhere) and it's so unfortunate to wake up in the middle of the night and trudge to find the facilities....did I mention the dirt?

For our first Father's Day, as newlyweds, I went along with the myth and bought a tent set for my husband. One large and one small ( so my new step-daughters/Scott's girls and we could camp together).  Thanks, I know, it was a thoughtful gift......... We went once, to the beach for camping. I prefer sand to dirt any day so I think it was a wise choice. Indeed there were some cool walks, a gorgeous fire, lots of singing, guitar playing and stories around the fire. It was nice.......

Now this glamping thing looks promising.......

Thanks for the laugh! LOL! I'm an anywhere camper, but those tents you posted sure do look tempting. I just may think about changing my ways!(in a heartbeat!). NE

Too cute of a story, Heather, especially the part in which you tried camping with your new little family! I did the same. I have boys, so I actually liked camping with them. Of course, I camped in a tent, and in a pop-up camper. I know for a fact that "glamping" would well be worth it! I'd love to try it!!! xo
