Los Cabos... what can I say? It is hands down one of most favorite, warm, beachy escapes. The area of Baja Mexico boasts the quaint, artsy town of San Jose del Cabo, the bustling Cabo San Lucas, as well as the beach infused corridor that connects the two. When I lived in Los Angeles the flight was a breeze~just over 2 hours. Even from Northern California, you can fly out in the morning and be sipping a margarita on the beach by 3pm in the afternoon. What's not to love?
To Plan: Unlimited Vacations Club is the Vacation Club we prefer. Trip Advisor is a great site for learning more about the area here. Tablet Hotels is a favorite website for stylish travel. Not only are the photos the most gorgeous, they also create soundtrack to enhance the travel experience.
To Do: Beach, relax, chill poolside, snorkel (on the safer beaches--must check for strong currents in the pounding surf), tour the art galleries, zip line, make some new friends, eat well, dance!
Transportation Tip: You will arrive at the San Jose del Cabo (SJD) airport, about a 45 minute ride or drive to Cabo San Lucas. Either rent a car prior to arrival (the major companies are here), or arrange transportation to your hotel prior to arriving (some resorts offer free transfer). Though the airport is sleek and well-organized these days you will be met by a throng of vultures inside the airport! Hot tip: Put on the shades and don't make eye-contact until you reach your designated driver or rental car rep.

Secrets Marquis Los Cabos Voted the most gorgeous lobby in the world, the Marquis never disappoints. The infinity pool is most likely my all time favorite. The architecture and wall of water is absolutely stunning, every room has an ocean view, and every poolside lounger looks over the pool to the ocean. It's adults only, so no splashing kids to worry about. (Family trips are great, but if you're vacationing without them, an adult resort is THE only way to go.)

El Encanto San Jose del Cabo~ A charming, authenic, well-priced option is the El Encanto in San Jose Del Cabo. It's close to the historic square and wonderful galleries and dining.

For a super hip stay check out the The Me~Cabo. Day beds, super loungy, chill tunes and just plain sexy. Nikki Beach is the beach club with a great vibe (we visited a sister club Nikki Beach St. Barths in 2004).

People Watching:
On Medano Beach hit the Mendano Beach Club or The Office on the sand. Enjoy the people watching show, but don't sit on the front row of the beach or you'll be inundated with the locals selling their... stuff.
Night Life:
Cabo Wabo: great for adults of all ages and the house band rocks!
Giggling Marlin (old standard) El Squid Roe: Well known and fun, but if you think you might be too old for this scene, you probably are.

Baja Brewing Company in San Jose del Cabo- live music and dancing Th-Sat. It's much lower key than Cabo San Lucas, mix with some locals, too.
